An MP supports the rollout of a new car rental program in his constituency.
Copeland MP Trudy Harrison visited Enterprise Rent-a-Car’s Whitehaven branch to learn about the company’s Car Club program, which offers members a range of fuel-efficient, hybrid and electric for rent 24 hours a day.
Cars and vans are rented from a central hub, which can be located, for example, in a convenient street, a train station, a parking lot or near a place of work or study.
Vehicles are reserved and then unlocked remotely via an app or by phone, and can be rented from a minimum of 30 minutes up to the duration desired by the user.
Harrison said: “By offering drivers the ability to hire a fuel efficient vehicle at their convenience, it provides a viable alternative to owning a car for many in terms of net zero and helping to reduce the cost of driving. life.
“The beauty of this program is that vehicles can be rented for as little as a single trip or up to a full day or more, or reserved in advance, for example, as a weekly reservation for someone who has a recurring appointment.”
Enterprise has Car Club hubs operating throughout the UK.
The closest hub to Copeland is currently at Workington Police Station, and Ms Harrison is assisting Enterprise in identifying potential new locations in the constituency.
