Most Ford Bronco owners agree that driving this new SUV is a satisfying experience. Even the standard trim packs plenty of off-road gear, especially if you splurge on the Sasquatch package. The new Ford Bronco Raptor has the most powerful engine, the highest towing capacity and a high-performance off-road suspension.
Unfortunately, the new Ford Bronco has also been plagued with several production delays due to the pandemic and other factors. To keep reservation holders happy over the years, the Blue Oval has sent them exclusive Bronco-related freebies. Our favorite item is a set of unique playing cards.
The new Ford Bronco suffered a difficult exit
The 2021 Ford Bronco was supposed to be released in 2020, but the shortage of semiconductor chips delayed production. Additionally, the automaker had trouble getting the right hardtops for the Bronco. The initial batch from Webasto apparently had a lot of design flaws, so they had to be scrapped and completely redone.
Additionally, extreme weather conditions shut down several factories, halting production of several Ford models. Last winter, the Ambassador Bridge blockage once again hampered production of the Bronco. As demand increased and manufacturing slowed, Ford prematurely halted orders for the 2022 Ford Bronco altogether.
Ford said many reservation holders will get their vehicles by May 2022, but some customers have experienced extended wait times. According Ford Authoritycustomers won’t even be able to order a 2023 Ford Bronco. Instead, the Blue Oval is focused on filling existing reservations.
2022 Ford Bronco Customers Get All-Weather Playing Cards
As a thank you, Ford is sending special sets of cards to Bronco reservation holders and owners. The cards would be weatherproof, a tribute to the rugged character of the Ford Bronco. Unique art adorns the joker and face cards, according to an unboxing video from TheRealCobraBurnoutwho said of his reserved Bronco: “I probably can’t afford it once it’s finally built.”
The game comes sealed in a plastic case nestled in a box with a desert-themed background. Inside the lid is a short letter from the Ford Bronco team thanking customers for their purchase. He also explains that inside the game are the rules for Broncos Wild, a special card game that Ford concocted.
The outside of the box has a black label with the Ford Bronco logo. It also highlights the Bronco’s 57 years of production and touts the slogan “For unpaved, well-played adventures.”
Several decks have already been listed for sale on eBay for around $30-50.
Other freebies the automaker has sent to customers
The new card game is just one example of the free loot Ford Bronco owners received. Last year, Ford Authority reported that 2021 Bronco reservation holders received surprise care packages in the mail.
Most of them included a letter from the Bronco team and a poster with the new model’s design sketches. A few buyers also received a special set of die-cast Bronco toys. It included a red Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, a yellow two-door Bronco Badlands, and a gray four-door Bronco Wildtrak.
For customers who have experienced order delays due to roof issues, Ford has also provided extensions on FordPass Rewards. For every dollar spent on a Ford vehicle, buyers receive points that they can spend on accessories or maintenance. Bronco buyers could receive up to 200,000 FordPass points, worth $1,000.
The automaker locked in the price of every customer’s Bronco order, even if it was to be converted to a 2022 model. Ford also gave away free Bronco headliners and vouchers for off-road driving lessons.
Delays for any car can be frustrating, especially for a highly anticipated model like the Bronco. Still, it’s comforting to know that Ford is taking extra steps to please fans.
