Honda will launch the new City Hybrid on May 4. Check price, features, other details

Honda Cars India is set to launch its highly anticipated New City e:HEV, India’s ultimate electric hybrid, next week. Reservations for the new hybrid model are already underway and deliveries are expected to begin in May.

The new City hybrid is set to launch on May 4. Before the launch, the first batch of the car arrived at dealerships.

Autocar India expects the new Honda City hybrid to be launched between 22 lakh-25 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Reservations for the new City Hybrid began on April 14. Honda previously announced that the launch and start of sales of the new City e:HEV would be in May.

Earlier this month, Honda unveiled the technical details of the new City e:HEV.

The City e:HEV is developed under the concept of “Ambitious Sedan” and is equipped with advanced hybrid driving technology and embodies supremacy in every detail, ranging from its style, performance, space, comfort, connectivity and security.

The new City Hybrid features the company’s highly efficient, self-charging two-motor e-CVT hybrid system, connected to a 1.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine, intelligent power unit (IPU) with an advanced lithium-ion. Battery and direct-coupled clutch linked to the engine.

The model uses three drive modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive, as well as a regeneration mode during deceleration.

Its powerful hybrid electric system produces a combined maximum system output of 126hp, outstanding fuel efficiency of 26.5km/l and maximum engine torque of 253Nm from 0-3000rpm.

Additionally, the company has adopted an advanced electric servo braking system with all four-wheel disc brakes which contribute to fuel efficiency and provide smooth braking feel for the New City e:HEV.

The new City Hybrid is equipped with 37 Honda Connect features. Some of them are – Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Auto High-Beam.

Additionally, the car features a new Honda Solid Wing Face, Blue H-mark logo front and rear, new claw-type fog light trim, e:HEV emblem at the rear, new black painted alloy wheels, new trunk spoiler and new rear bumper diffuser with carbon finish.
