The Japanese moniker of Kawasaki Motorcycles is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Z lineup this year and to commemorate this historic milestone, the company has launched the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Z650RS in the country. The company has announced that only 20 units of this anniversary edition of the Z650 RS will be brought to India and they will be priced at Rs 6,79,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Reservations for the very exclusive Z650 RS Anniversary Edition have already started and interested customers can reserve one by visiting the Kawasaki India website. While according to the company, deliveries of the model will start from March 2022.
The iconic anniversary iteration of the model will be offered in Candy Diamond Brown color which mimics the “Fireball” colorway of the original Z1 which debuted in 1972. Additionally, the bike will feature a gloss black frame with ‘Z 50th’ logo on The reservoir. The bike also gets a set of gold-colored alloy wheels, a different seat with a textured leather cover, and a chrome passenger grab bar.
Apart from these cosmetic changes, much of the bike remains the same as the standard Z650 RS which was fitted with a 649cc parallel twin engine developing 68bhp and 64Nm of torque and mated to a 6-speed transmission. Things like the steel trellis frame, semi-digital dash, LED lighting and ABS remain unchanged in the latest edition of this bike.
The retro-styled mid-weight motorcycle in its standard form is fitted with 17-inch spoked cast alloy wheels with twin 300mm front disc brakes and 220mm rear discs wrapped in chunky 120/70 section tires. the front and 160/60- section at the rear. The bike also features horizontal rear-linkage rear suspension for a better balance of sporty performance and ride comfort.
As for the price, the previously mentioned price of Rs 6,79,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) of the Z650 RS Anniversary Edition includes a premium of Rs 7,000 over the standard bike.
