Kia India reports 18% sales growth

The Kia Seltos remained the top selling model for Kia India while the Sonet was third.

Kia India recorded 18% year-on-year (YoY) sales growth in April 2022, selling 19,019 units in the country. The Kia Seltos compact SUV remained the Korean brand’s best-selling model in India with 7,506 units sold last month, followed by its latest launch, the Kia Carens at 5,754 units. The Kia Sonet took the third position with 5,404 units sold in the same month, while the company also sold 355 units of the Kia Carnival.

The Kia Carens has established itself as the second best-selling model of the Korean brand in India.

Commenting on the performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India said: “Kia India has sold almost 20,000 units on average, every month in 2022 and it has been a healthy year for us. The automotive industry has been facing a difficult phase of battling supply chain issues since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. We are receiving overwhelming demand for our vehicles and we are constantly optimizing our production to keep the waiting period. we are constantly evolving, and as a result, we are bringing the most high-tech Kia ever to our discerning Indian customers. With EV6, we are entering the EV space of India, which has shown great potential.
