‘Kim’s Convenience’ Star Nicole Power Joins Netflix Drama ‘Glamorous’

Nicole Power has joined the set for the upcoming Netflix drama series “Glamour.”

She will appear alongside previously announced “Sex and the City” icon Kim Cattrall, as well as actor, singer-songwriter and YouTuber Miss Benny. In the show, Power will play Mykynnleigh, a seemingly innocent business consultant who goes to town to help close a business deal. Although she appears wholesome and unsophisticated, these appearances are deceiving as Mykynnleigh possesses a lot of spine and business acumen.

“Glamorous” tells the story of Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a gender-nonconforming queer young man whose life seems stuck until he lands a job with legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). This is Marco’s first chance to find out what he wants out of life, who he really is and what it really means to him to be queer.

Power is probably best known for her role as Shannon Ross, a car rental manager and girlfriend of Simu Liu’s Jung Kim, on the Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience.” This series first aired on CBC Television from October 2016 to April 2021 and gained a wider audience in the United States when it started streaming on Netflix. Power was recently seen on spin-off series “Strays,” reprising her role in a show that sees Shannon relocate to Hamilton, Ontario to start a new career. Power is twice nominated for the Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in “Kim’s Convenience.”

Power is replaced by Talent House and Mosaic Management.
