Used car platform myTukar has rebranded itself today, adopting a new orange corporate identity to reflect its enhanced brand image and capabilities as part of the regional Carro network. The relaunch took place at the 2022 myTukar Auto Show, which is taking place at the myTukar Retail Experience Center in Puchong South until July 3.
The new CI aligns myTukar with Carro, its Singapore-based parent company, as the latter strives to become the number one used car marketplace in Southeast Asia. The rebranding will be followed by a number of changes for myTukar, including a new fleet of flatbed trucks for customer home deliveries and the first Carro-powered campaign to be rolled out in the coming months.
“Thanks to our collective effort as a company, alongside our partners, dealers and customers who trust our credibility, the used car industry has never been more accessible, transparent and trustworthy” , said Derrick Eng, CEO of myTukar. “Improving myTukar goes beyond rebranding; we have integrated our capabilities, business, data intelligence and technical knowledge with our parent company, Carro, to bring even more value to our customers.
Carro CEO and Co-Founder Aaron Tan added, “Today’s rebranding of myTukar is a renewal of the company’s commitment to delivering a world-class customer experience, ensuring a smooth and seamless car ownership. By aligning our brand identity and core values with each other, we are excited to be part of myTukar’s ongoing journey.
The rebranding comes as myTukar has seen rapid national growth in its digital and physical presence. Over the years, transaction volumes have increased by 63% for wholesale and 260% for retail, which has helped increase net income by 89%. The new CI aims to bring the company closer to its customers and prepare for further geographic expansion, he said, helping it drive growth and sales.
“This rebranding is our commitment to providing customers with an end-to-end shopping experience when deciding to purchase their next dream vehicle,” Eng said. “We are confident that with Carro’s technology support, regional presence and experience in tackling the Malaysian market, we will be able to continue our growth history.”
myTukar has placed large orange boxes across the country – including in Klang Valley, Penang and at the previous myTukar Auto Fair 2022 event in Plentong, Johor Bahru – ahead of today’s event, with QR codes printed on it. Mobile boxes have also appeared in Ipoh, Taiping, Alor Setar, Johor and Penang.
Those who scanned the codes signed up to be in the running to win up to RM200,000 in prizes, with higher tier goodies revealed the more people scanned – today a year’s supply of petrol has been announced as part of the prizes.
The move follows steady growth in the used car market, with demand increasing by 8% in the first quarter of the year. The ongoing myTukar 2022 auto show caters to these customers, with more than 1,000 myTukar Certified Pre-Owned vehicles available for the more than 6,000 people expected to flock to the Puchong South venue over the three next days.
Visitors will be able to receive on-site trade-in values for their current vehicles, interest rates as low as 1.88%, and same-day loan approval and car collection. More information can be obtained via the myTukar website, which has also been updated with the new orange CI.
