ODOT Region 4 Construction Update: Week of July 22-29

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Here’s the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Region 4 weekly construction update for the week of July 22-29.

At ODOT, we are committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system for everyone. We’re investing in Oregon’s future through road improvement projects. The following projects are located in Region 4; Central Oregon from the Dales to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

There are two ways to find out more about the ongoing build for the week ahead.

1. Visit TripCheck.com. Constantly updated with construction and accident data, TripCheck is the best way to learn about road conditions in the state. Click on a traffic cone symbol on the map to see construction impacts for that area.

2. Scroll to the counties and highways listed below to see impacts that may affect you. Construction information is displayed for a week, giving you the most up-to-date information.

All work is weather dependent and times are subject to change.


FALLS COUNTY

US 97: South Century Drive to USFS border (MP 153.11 – MP 156.26)

Crews will perform daytime work Monday through Friday with single lane closures. Expect minimal traffic delays. Completion scheduled for the end of August 2022.

US 97: Road Weather Management Project (MP 143.68 – MP 164.17)

Crews will be carrying out daytime work Monday through Friday consisting of shoulder work to complete installation of elements for the project, please do not expect any traffic delays. Completion expected end of August 2022

US 20: Mervin Sampels in Greenwood (3rd Curvature of the street, PM 18.99 – PM 20.99)

Crews will be performing single lane closures on 3rd Street from Butler Market to Mervin Sampels with day and night work Monday through Friday. The contractor will also continue reconstruction of the intersection of 3rd and Greenwood, with single lane closures in place Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Expect delays. Completion scheduled for November 1, 2023.

US 97 Redmond-Bend Security Improvements (MP 124.4 – MP 133.51)

Crews will perform day work Monday through Friday consisting of shoulder work. Don’t expect traffic delays. Completion scheduled for August 12, 2022, except seeding.

US 20: Ward/Hamby Road roundabout (MP 3.26 – MP 3.86)

Crews will perform day work Monday through Friday consisting of shoulder work. Don’t expect traffic delays. Completion scheduled for the end of July 2022, except sowing.

CLAKAMAS COUNTY

US26: SE Kelso Rd-Frog Lake Sno Park Sec

Crews will perform clearing and erosion control between Mile 27.11 and 38.01 daylight hours, with shoulder closures as well as possible single lane closures. Possible lane closures with signage affecting side streets to MPs 33.27 (SE Alder Creek Rd.), 34.92 (E. Sleepy Hollow Dr.), 36.43 (E. Peter Place), 36.53 (E Sun Rae Dr) and 36 79 (E Brightwood Loop Rd) Expected completion September 2022.

HARNEY/LAKE COUNTIES

US 395: Big Stick to Alkali Lake, Lakeview, Lakeview-Burns Highway (MP 15.43 – MP 46.93).

Grinding, cement treated base on site, paving and piping from MP 15.4 to MP 20.3, 24 hour signage and pilot car 7 days a week, expect 20 minute delays.

HOOD RIVER COUNTY

I-84: Proposed Forest Lane Over I-84, Columbia River Freeway (MP 46.2 – MP 46.51).

Complete closure of the bridge on NW Forest Lane until July 26. Frontage Road will have daytime lane closures with signage. Crews will continue to construct the fill, remove and place materials for the reconstruction of Frontage Road, and install rebar and formwork for the approaches to the bridge. Expected completion of the project on July 29, 2022

JEFFERSON COUNTY
and CTWS RESERVATION

US 26: Clear Lake Road – NW Dogwood Lane Project

CTWS RESERVATION, WASCO COUNTY: At MP 69, traffic is now following a diversion route beside the existing bridge. Crews will construct formwork and rebar for a new foundation. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the work area. Narrowed track widths and a 40mph speed reduction are in place. Completion scheduled for December 2022.

US 97: Dalles Highway Culvert Project – California

Piping work at MP 267.41 to MP 268.73, 24 hour signal zone Monday to Friday, expect 20 minute delays.

KLAMATH COUNTY

OR140 Brett Way Extension (South Klamath Falls Highway, MP 3.74 – 4.75)

Earthworks, paving, curbs and drains on Brett Way and Wings Way, expect minor delays.

US 97: OR 58 – California Border Project (The Dalles – California Highway, MP 252.44 – MP 278.81)

Bridge work on Nevada Street Bridge at MP 273.62, USBR Bridge at MP 273.71 and Green Spring Bridge at MP 277.12.
Nevada Street/Oregon Avenue: traffic control by lane change installed, work on the bridge will be done behind the concrete barrier, no delays expected.

WASCO COUNTY (OR)/KLICKITAT (WA)

The Dalles Bridge Project (Columbia River) (US 197: WA MP 0.57 I-84: MP 100.6-US 197: OR MP 0.61 I-84: MP 102.2.)

WASCO COUNTY, SHERMAN COUNTY (OR) / KLICKITAT COUNTY (WA): Full weekend closures of The Dalles Bridge have ended, with hopes of resuming closures after Labor Day in the fall. Crews continue repair work on the concrete panels at their precast site location and preparation of the structure below. Work will also take place on the shoulders and staging areas at the ends of the bridge during weekdays with no delays expected, please use caution when traveling through the project. Expected completion to be determined.

I-84: Corbett Interchange – Multnomah Falls Section

Single lane closures will occur at night. The contractor will clean and perform new coating procedures on the existing pipes. Completion expected in September 2022
