The city break is back. Travelers return to once bustling metropolises.
A new study published by Allianz Partners in its Top 10 Summer Rental Car Report has shown that Americans are once again traveling to major cities.
Over the past two years, the open road and open spaces have been preferred by tenants but, as the landscape changes again, major metropolitan destinations are making a comeback.
“America’s cities are on the road to recovery this summer as Americans bring the legendary road trip back to life,” said Daniel Durazo, director of external communications at Allianz Partners USA. “With gas prices skyrocketing, purchasing Allianz Rental Car Damage Protection allows travelers to save money at the rental car counter while still benefiting from the coverage, benefits and service needed for a smooth summer ride.”
This year’s list includes Orlando, Las Vegas and Denver in the top three, followed by Los Angeles, Portland, Honolulu, Boston, Seattle, Kahului and San Diego.
In 2021, Anchorage, Alaska was number five and is no longer on the list, and Kahului was number six, up from number nine this year. Phoenix also dropped from the roster this year, while Boston and San Diego joined the roster.
Those looking to protect their investment in a rental car can turn to Allianz Rental Car Damage Protection, available from travel agencies. The protection offers more robust coverage than that offered by most car rental companies.
