Reservations for India’s most affordable electric vehicle are open; Soon the announcement of the price

As electric vehicles are gaining popularity these days, the most affordable passenger electric vehicle right now is the Tata Tigor EV which costs over Rs 10 lakh. A Mumbai-based electric vehicle startup named PMV Electric is to launch a space-saving micro electric car for urban electric mobility in a space of less than 10 lakh. According Express ReadersPMV Electric founder, Kalpit Patel, the company will bring a two-seater electric vehicle named Ease-E in July 2022 at an expected starting price of Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new PMV Ease-E (pronounced “easy”) is designed on the lines of the new generation global micro electric vehicles like Citroën AMI and MG E200. The design is clean and unique with a closed T-shaped grille with daytime running LEDs across its upper width and rounded LED headlights positioned lower.

Rolling on 13-inch alloy wheels, the two-seat PMV Eas-E, which has one seat up front and one in the back, gets a four-door design. The car gets a vertically aligned rear windshield and a slanted gloss black panel in the lower half with LED taillights stretched across its full width.

The car also comes with modern features such as a fully TFT digital instrument console, free-mounted touchscreen infotainment system, remote keyless entry, USB charging port, manual air conditioning, cruise control speedometer and rear parking camera and sensors.

The new PMV Eas-E will be powered by a front-mounted 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor, which can propel this car to a top speed of 70 km/h. The car will come with a 10kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which should provide a range of between 120km and 200km per charge, depending on the variant you choose.

Using a 3 kW AC charger, the Eas-E battery can be charged for less than four hours. Measuring 2,915mm long, 1,157mm wide and 1,600mm high, the new PMV Eas-E has a ground clearance of 170mm, a wheelbase of 2,087mm and an unladen weight of 550kg.

PMV Electric has started taking online reservations for the Eas-E for a refundable amount of Rs 2,000, while the launch of the electric car and deliveries are expected to take place at the end of the second quarter of 2023. As the Ola S1 Pro, the Eas-E PMV will be sold to customers through a D2C (direct to consumer) mode, eliminating the conventional process of selling through POS. PMV plans to produce 15,000 units of Eas-E in the first year of production from its Chakan manufacturing unit.
