This all-electric crossover from Kia wins the If Design Awards, soon to be launched in India

Kia’s all-electric crossover car, EV6, has won the iF Design Award. The EV6 won four of Kia’s iF Design Awards, the ‘Automobiles/Vehicles’ design award, the EV6 was honored for three other category accolades: ‘Shops/Showrooms’ (for brand space EV6 Unplugged Ground), ‘Product Interface’ (for the EV6 infotainment system) and ‘Textile/Wall/Floor’ (for the GEONIC three-dimensional hybrid material used in the EV6 cabin).

Kia, the South Korean auto major, has announced the new EV6 all-electric crossover for India in limited numbers for which bookings will begin next month.

The EV6 left with the victory of the “Automobiles/Vehicles” design. It is the first Kia to use the advanced global electric modular platform architecture.

Winner in the “Boutiques/Showrooms” category, the “EV6 Unplugged Ground” brand space in Seongsu, Seoul was created to showcase the award-winning EV6 in fun and imaginative ways through immersive experience zones. The next-generation showroom also shares Kia’s message of new ways of living – encompassing recycling, sustainability and forward-looking mobility solutions.

The EV6’s advanced infotainment system won a 2022 iF Design Award for “Product Interface”. The system’s high-resolution panoramic curved display supports and enhances the driver experience and complements the overall interior aesthetic. Furthermore, the design of the cluster deviates from the circular graphics of internal combustion engine vehicles and focuses on the development of graphics optimized for environmentally friendly electric vehicles. The system’s green and purple color scheme, which conveys a “modern image”, was also highlighted by the judges.

Kia’s Geonic interior trim material, created in collaboration with Kolon, received an iF Design Award for “Car Interior Design Material”. This three-dimensional hybrid material laminates multiple layers of PU, allowing for unlimited patterns and a diverse range of colors.

Since its premiere in 2021, the vehicle has received critical acclaim from media around the world, winning the What Car? ‘Car of the Year 2022’ and ‘European Car of the Year’ awards.
